HELSINKI, Finland, September 29, 2026 – Gosta Labs and the Wellbeing services county of Kymenlaakso (Kymenlaakson hyvinvointialue) have started a collaboration that brings AI-assisted documentation into patient appointments at every health centre in the region.
The Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso employs around 7,000 people and serves around 157,500 residents in Kotka, Hamina, Kouvola, Miehikkälä, Pyhtää and Virolahti.
The rollout started at two health centres in June 2026. By the end of the summer, Gosta was in use at all of the region's health centres, among physicians, nurses and rehabilitation professionals.

Documentation is essential for safe, high-quality care, but it takes up a significant share of the working day for physicians, nurses and rehabilitation professionals. It is often done under time pressure, between appointments, after hours and across several different systems. Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County set out to change this and introduced Gosta to reduce the time spent on documentation and the cognitive load that comes with it, and to keep building more client-centred care.
Gosta AI assistant listens to the client or patient encounter and drafts a structured note that follows the organisation's own documentation templates. The professional then reviews, edits and approves the text. With one click, the finished note transfers to Lifecare, the patient record system used in the region, so information never has to be moved between systems by hand.
"What surprised me was how well Gosta picks out what matters in a conversation. It also brings up things I wouldn't have thought to document myself, and I often find myself thinking how well something has been put," says one of the professionals using Gosta at the Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso.
In the first months, more than 200 healthcare professionals have started using Gosta, and more than 10,000 notes have been documented with it.
"I started using Gosta with my very first client, and now it's part of every appointment. I always make sure it's switched on," says another user at the Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso.
"The Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso is a recognised forerunner in renewing its services and putting new technology to use, and we are glad to support that work. Reducing administrative burden and freeing up time for patient encounters is our top priority. A smooth rollout has let us reach good results quickly across the whole county," said Lauri Sippola, CEO & Co-founder of Gosta Labs.
"Gosta AI assistant is an excellent tool and a model example of the concrete help AI can bring to everyday care work. Our collaboration with Gosta Labs has been seamless. Professionals across the Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso have been quick to take up the AI assistant. The tool has been technically ready from the start, and we have not seen the teething problems typical of health and social care IT. That is why it made sense to extend its use to all our health centres and a wider group of users," said Matti Ahola, Chief Information Officer, Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso.
